An IT Infrastructure Library (ITIL) implementation requires changes for people and processes. Pink Elephant notes the top 10 ITIL deployment mistakes and how to overcome them. Here's list:

 No vision
 Top-down commitment isn't necessary
We don't need a business case.
We don't need an initial baseline.
ITIL is not a strategic project
We don't need a communications strategy.
We don't need an overall process strategy.
We'll start with a new tool and build processes around that later.
 Unmanaged scope creep.
We don't expect much resistance to ITIL.Not a bad list.
