Top Ten Tips for ITIL Change Management

Implementing Change Management is much more than a simple process roll-out -- it is a major strategic undertaking. Here's my take on the steps to help beginners to start off on the right foot:

1. Clarify Change Management Objectives
2. Articulate benefits throughout the organization
3. Define what a Change is
4. Establish clear roles and responsibilities
5. Create flexibility with change categories
6. Focus on process first, tools second
7. Measure measure measure
8. Promote proper change planning to reduce errors
9. Conduct Post Implementation Reviews (PIR)
10. Implement with other processes
